Surf Spots in Lima
Lima concentrates the largest number of spots and the most active surf scene in Peru. Right in the city, the Costa Verde circuit gathers urban waves such as Makaha, Waikiki, Redondo and Barranquito, ideal for learning and for frequent sessions just minutes from downtown. To the south, the Punta Hermosa area becomes the capital of Peruvian surfing, with world-class waves like Pico Alto, Caballeros and Señoritas, and further south appear classics such as San Bartolo, Punta Rocas and Cerro Azul. Its waves break over rocky reefs and sandbanks, work best with south swells between April and October, and offer options for every level. The water is cold, so a wetsuit is recommended much of the year.
