About Las Gramas

Las Gramas is a sandbank spot in southern Lima, known for its very consistent waves that can open both to the left and to the right. It works well with southwest swell and becomes especially good when the wind blows offshore from the east-southeast, which orders and shapes the wall. It can be surfed on any tide, which makes it a flexible option, though it is wise to watch the currents and the closeouts on bigger days. Being a sandbank, the quality of the peaks varies depending on how the sand is deposited, and when it is good it usually gathers quite a few surfers. It is a wave recommended for intermediate level, rewarding good peak reading and timing. For the south Lima surfer looking for active, workable waves over sand, Las Gramas is a consistent classic within the varied Lima coastline.
