About Makaha

Makaha is one of Lima's most emblematic urban spots, located in Miraflores in front of the promenade, along the Costa Verde beach circuit. Its great appeal is accessibility: it is just minutes from the heart of the city and offers waves almost all year, which makes it the daily meeting point of the Lima surfing community. The wave breaks over reef with moderate-sized rights and lefts, ideal for beginners and intermediates who want to progress in a friendly, undemanding setting. Surf schools, board rentals and instructors are concentrated around it, so it is one of the best places in the city to take your first steps in surfing. Because it is such a crowded wave, it is important to respect priority and order in the water. With the Miraflores cliffs as a backdrop, Makaha combines surf, city and easy access like few spots in Peru.
