About Los Pulpos

Los Pulpos is a beach break south of Lima, with a sand bottom and variable peaks that can produce lefts and rights depending on how the bank is. It works best with south-southwest groundswell and offshore northeast wind, conditions that order the wave and form good sections. The southern hemisphere winter is usually its most consistent season, when swells arrive with more power. Being a sandbank, its quality changes over time and it is wise to watch the currents and closeouts on very big days. It is a wave recommended for intermediate level, ideal for surfers who enjoy active, workable peaks over sand. Its location within the circuit of beaches south of Lima makes it accessible and popular.
