Peña Negra is a beach break with predominant lefts located near Cabo Blanco, in Piura, a consistent wave that offers relaxed sessions in a calm, uncrowded setting. It breaks over a sand and rock bottom, with walls that shape up well and fun rides, ideal for intermediate surfers looking for quality waves without the demands of the heavier reefs in the area. Being on the same stretch of coast as Cabo Blanco and Panic Point, it is part of one of the richest surfing regions in the north, yet keeps a much calmer character. The water is warm all year round and its best season runs from October to March, with north swells.
