About El Ñuro

El Ñuro, a small fishing village in Talara (Piura), is as well known for its wave as for its sea turtles, which come up to the pier daily and have become one of the most beloved attractions in the north. In the water, the wave is a left that breaks over reef with hollow, good-quality sections, in a quiet setting with few surfers, which gives it an authentic, uncrowded character. The water is warm all year, typical of the Piura coast, and the best season runs from November to March, when north swells arrive. Beyond surfing, El Ñuro draws travelers who want to swim alongside the turtles and enjoy a slow-paced fishing village. Its proximity to Máncora and Órganos makes it a perfect stop on a tour of the northern waves and beaches, combining surf, nature and a relaxed atmosphere.
