Surf beaches in Chile

Chile offers one of the longest and most consistent surfing coasts on the planet, with thousands of kilometers of waves facing the Pacific Ocean. Its waters are cold all year due to the Humboldt current, so it is surfed with a wetsuit, but the reward is powerful, very consistent south swells. Pichilemu is the Chilean surf capital, home to the iconic Punta de Lobos, a world-class left, while in the north El Gringo, in Arica, offers one of the most extreme barrels in South America. In between there are coves, beaches and point breaks for every level, many of them uncrowded and surrounded by spectacular scenery. The best conditions usually come in autumn and winter, between April and September.

WaveSearch brings together 8 surf spots across 5 regions in Chile, with real-time wave forecasts. You'll find spots for all levels: 2 for beginners, 4 for intermediates, 1 for advanced and 1 for experts.
