About Pimentel

Pimentel is a historic port in Lambayeque, famous for having one of the longest piers in Peru and for being, along with Huanchaco, one of the birthplaces of the caballito de totora, the ancestral reed craft that fishermen have ridden across these waves for centuries. In the water it offers left and right waves that break over a sand bottom, with friendly conditions that suit both intermediates and those who are progressing. The best season runs from April to October, with south swells. Beyond surfing, Pimentel has a strong traditional beach-town charm, with its promenade, historic pier, artisanal fishing and rich seafood cuisine. Its proximity to Chiclayo makes it very accessible and popular in summer. It is an ideal destination to combine surf, living culture and beach in northern Peru, with an authentic atmosphere and a seafaring tradition felt in every corner.
