Olón is a wide, quiet beach located just north of Montañita, in the Santa Elena province, ideal for those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere than its party-oriented neighbor. Its wave is a beach break with gentle waves that break over a sand bottom, perfect for families and beginners who want to learn and progress without demands. Its extensive stretch of sand, one of the longest and most beautiful in the area, offers plenty of space and a peaceful setting to enjoy the sea. The water is warm all year round, which allows surfing in boardshorts in any season, and its best season runs from December to May. Being so close to Montañita lets you combine the calm of Olón with all the services and nightlife of the neighboring town. For the beginner surfer or the family looking for forgiving waves and a serene atmosphere, Olón is an excellent option on the Ecuadorian coast.
