About Ayampe
Ayampe is a quiet beach surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, located in the Manabí province, on the central coast of Ecuador. It is an ideal destination for those just starting out in surfing, with gentle waves that break over a sand bottom in a natural, peaceful setting. Its relaxed, bohemian atmosphere, away from the bustle of the more party-oriented destinations, attracts beginner surfers, longboarders and nature lovers looking to disconnect. The water is warm all year round, which allows surfing without a wetsuit, and its best season runs from December to April. Around it there are small eco-lodges, cafés and a growing traveler community, plus proximity to Machalilla National Park and Puerto López. For the traveler looking to learn to surf in a green, quiet and authentic corner of the Ecuadorian coast, Ayampe is a little paradise.
